The category is still ours to define.</p></div><div> <p>The Role.</p> <p>Onyx is expanding its regulated derivatives business, and this role will be central to building the financial and regulatory infrastructure supporting the FCM entity. You will work closely with finance and executive leadership to maintain the FCM’s financial standing with the CFTC and NFA. You will own critical day-to-day responsibilities across segregation calculations, net capital monitoring, Form 1-FR-FCM filings, financial reporting, and regulatory examinations. The finance function is being built from the ground up, giving you the opportunity to establish processes, strengthen controls, and help shape how the function operates as Onyx scales.</p> <p>This is a hands-on role for someone who has performed this work directly, understands the level of precision it requires, and is excited to build within a fast-moving environment. This position is based in New York City and requires working in person from our NoHo office.</p> <p>What You’ll Own:</p> <ul> <li>Calculate and monitor adjusted net capital, risk-based capital requirements, regulatory haircuts, early-warning thresholds, and internal management buffers.</li> <li>Prepare daily segregation and residual-interest calculations, funds-on-deposit tracking, and undermargined customer reporting.</li> <li>Ensure financial controls and reporting processes consistently meet CFTC and NFA requirements.</li> <li>Prepare and file monthly Form 1-FR-FCM reports.</li> <li>Support annual FCM audits and NFA examinations, including responding to examiner requests and remediating findings.</li> <li>Manage the FCM’s standalone monthly close, financial statements, and accounting judgments.</li> <li>Prepare reporting for finance leadership covering capital adequacy, liquidity, customer-funds protection, and emerging risks or control issues.</li> <li>Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and the broader Onyx finance team on entity-level accounting and regulatory matters.</li> <li>Build and maintain policies, procedures, controls, and reporting infrastructure for the FCM finance function.</li> <li>Help ensure the organization remains prepared for regulatory examinations and audits. </li> </ul> <p>What We’re Looking For:</p> <ul> <li>5+ years of finance, accounting, or regulatory reporting experience, including meaningful hands-on experience within a FCM.</li> <li>Direct experience preparing or reviewing daily segregation calculations, residual-interest calculations, and monthly Form 1-FR-FCM filings.</li> <li>Working knowledge of CFTC financial requirements under Parts 1, 22, and 30, NFA financial requirements, and the WinJammer filing system.</li> <li>Experience supporting NFA examinations and annual FCM audits.</li> <li>Ability to manage a complete monthly close and produce standalone financial statements for a regulated entity.</li> <li>Experience with intercompany reconciliations, accounting allocations, and balance-sheet substantiation.</li> <li>Strong judgment and attention to detail in an environment where financial controls and regulatory accuracy are critical.</li> <li>Clear communication skills and the ability to explain capital, liquidity, and customer-funds matters plainly.</li> <li>A hands-on, highly accountable approach and an interest in building systems and processes from an early stage.</li> <li>Ability to work in person from our New York City office. </li> </ul> <p>Nice to Have:</p> <ul> <li>Previous experience as an FCM Controller, Regulatory Reporting Manager, Regulatory Capital Manager, or in a similar role within a carrying FCM.</li> <li>Experience helping build the finance function for a new FCM.</li> <li>Experience supporting an FCM registration and readiness process through its first regulatory examinatio</li> </ul> Compensation and Benefits:</div> <ul> <li>The base salary range is<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>$150,000–$200,000 annually, plus target bonus and equity.
